How to Answer Security Questionnaires with Evidence
How to answer enterprise security questionnaires with evidence, owners, and an honest gap instead of an unsupported yes.
Enterprise security questionnaires ask for evidence: a control, a policy section, a diagram, or a product behavior. They are a poor place to improvise. Treat each question as a compliance-matrix row with a higher bar for the evidence column.
Who answers
Security or risk owns the control statement. The pursuit team owns whether the sentence matches the question that was asked. Sales should not be the only reviewer of a control claim.
Steps
- Paste the question unchanged into the requirement description.
- Record the source document and the question number.
- Classify it as mandatory unless the questionnaire says otherwise.
- Attach evidence: a policy clause, a configuration you can demonstrate, or an explicit gap.
- Set review status to accepted only after the control owner has read both the question and the evidence.
- If the honest status is a gap, say so and point to the compensating control or the roadmap item. Do not borrow a "yes" from a different control.
Example
"Do you encrypt data at rest?" needs the scope: which stores, which algorithm, who holds the keys. A product screenshot of a setting is evidence. The sentence "we take security seriously" is not. If customer-managed keys are a roadmap item, the status is partial and the comment names the limitation and the owner who will review it again before submission.
Limitations
BidosAI does not complete a SIG or CAIQ on your behalf from public marketing pages. It can hold the rows and the evidence links once you are in a workspace. This site does not claim SOC 2 or ISO certification. For deployment patterns that are actually described, see reference architecture and the feature overview. Keep the questionnaire file out of a public demo.

Frequently asked questions
Is a general security statement enough evidence?
No. The row should point at a control, a policy section, a setting you can show, or an explicit gap.
